me not. There are more than one game board named "Age of Empire II". One game was published by Microsoft. The other one seems to be web-published (non-commercial) and not finished according to Boardgamegeek.

By the way that wasn't a joke. Monchhichi played very well in this match. But I expected that he made other moves in his (South) turn 13. In my opinion he was able to capture two of Andre's three elephants. In this case George could have placed a siege engine on Andre's island with good prospects.

Kind regards

Dear Everyone,

I love Age of Wonders 2 and 3, among my favorite computer games.
If you like other good boardgames, I highly recommend Spirit Island. Great game! You can see my favorite games on BGG here:
https://boardgamegeek.com/collection/us ... dgame&ff=1

I agreed Monchichi played very well, but as we fight each other, Klaus benefited from George inexperience. This is why I prefer team games 2 vs 2. Now Andreas' elephant on the boat is the only hope to prolong the game ... :)

Here is West Turn 14,
N249 Ω B912 = 5
Bn912 - 636 = 3
N-H17 x D-Y18 = 6 (Edited by Klaus: not possible because George's Ds moved to Y11 in turn 13!)
N-Y18 x N-Y11 = 3 (not possible because George's N moved to space 326 in turn 13)
S251 - E219 = 1
N-Y11 x C327 = 2 (not possible, too.)

Total = 20.

Kind Regards

Hello Gentlemen,

Thank you for the commendation. I thinks all play a very good game. I saw a lot of interesting movements and I learned more about this wonderful games.
It was really the microsoft games that was my hint. If in this game someone start to build a wonder of the world all player forgot the conflicts of the past to start a attack to this player because if this one finished it he win the game.
In my last turn I try to show my strategie as I opened completely my front. The next turn would be a very interesting situation to prohibit the victory of Klaus, if Andre had interpretate my indication correctly for a corperate action. But this is very difficult because it was our first game together. This is more easier if we play the game at the same table in the same land and the same room :)

I will try to do all to make a lot of trouble at Klaus army in the last turn :)

A partner game at the future sounds very good ;)

@Andre: You have very good games in your list. I and some friends play Axis&Allies one time in the year. We will start very early because we play the long Axis&Allies combined game Europe and Pacific. Gloomhaven, Orleans and Scythe also very good games. My favorite are Power Grid , Antike, Viticulture and a lot of more ...

Dear Andre,

indeed Spirit Island seems to be an interesting game according to the awards ...

It's a pitty but you have to redo some moves because of some mistakes you made in your last turn (see your corrected turn 14!)
I would like to play the partnership version of Grand Conquest next time. But nevertheless it was interesting to test this version we are playing now. In this version noone is able to control all regions of the map. Interaction and cooperation are possible without words. And the distance between victory and defeat might be small.

Kind regards

no, your own elephant on space 219 could have been an additional hope, too! I think monchhichi expected that you would do the following cooperative moves after his turn:
1. withdrawal of your knight and siege engine: N249 - 217 (2P) and T250 - 247 (2P),
2. elephant's 219 crossing of the bridge to space 150 (3P), then picking up the soldier on space 251 (2P) and then takeover of monchhichi's offered boat on space 912 (3P),
3. sailing to space 925 (5P).
With two ships loaded with elephants you could double the elephant's range onshore to reach my siege engine on space 319 because monchhichi and you would have a turn successively!

That was possible, but I'm not sure at this moment whether it would have been decisive.

Kind regards
