Hi Klaus,
Please excuse the last move - I don’t know what I was thinking.
Let’s see what surprises can happen with this activity!
Thanks and now I will set up the board for the other game.
Trust all is well,
George

Re: Klaus (South) vs. George (North)
Hi George,
our holiday ended a few days ago. It's a pity, we were so comfortable. Everything was fine although it wasn't beach weather. But we didn't want to go for a swim. The temperature was about 17-20 degree Celsius (I think it's about 62-68 degree Fahrenheit).
Good luck and warmer weather in Wisconsin! Maybe you will meet Hodag there
There was one little mistake in your virtual map. My boat is on space 721, so move my boat from 702 to 721.
Then reproduce the moves of my turn 4, please. Control my moves, too, I could make mistakes, too. If something is incomprehensible then ask, please.
Kind regards
Klaus

Re: Klaus (South) vs. George (North)
Hi Klaus,
I have a question about Katapult shots to field positions.
For example, from what positions are Katapult shots possible if a Ds or N is located on B22? How about B19 or B18?
I just want to make sure I understand this aspect properly.
Thanks Klaus, I am not sure what to do next, but will think of something.
Cheers,
George
I would like to send you a Hodag shirt! If that’s OK, let me know where to send it.

Re: Klaus (South) vs. George (North)
Dear George,
it's a good question! I discussed it with Andre who had broached this topic (see viewtopic.php?f=10&t=86). At the end of this discussion I uploaded a map which depicts where catapult shots should be possible on the 2-player board considering obstacles like little hills and trees. It's a pity that the published boards are unclear in this regard. You can download this special map with the slots which I posted in January 2018. I didn't make a map with slots for the 4-player version. Maybe you would like to produce such a map for the 4-player version. Until then I suggest to conform to the numbered 4-player map in case we want to know where catapult shots are possible (there are only a few of them = only a few yellow slots).
Now have a look at the 2-player map I uploaded in January 2018. You will see that a catapult on space 253 (only on space 253!) could reach field B22 (no obstacles like trees or hills are barring the way.) Field B19 could be reached by a catapult on space 253 or 256 or 255 or 257 and field B18 could be reached by a catapult on space 256 or 214 or 257 or 258.
Kind regards
Klaus

Thank you very much for this great offer. I will email you. And let me make your day, too. I like to gift you a set of Grand Conquest metal pieces because I believe that you are a real fan of this game. It's about workpieces which have to be galvanized or painted. I assume that you playing with the plastic pieces at present.George wrote:I would like to send you a Hodag shirt! If that’s OK, let me know where to send it.

Re: Klaus (South) vs. George (North)
Hi Klaus,
Just saw your note regarding K shots Into the field, will need to study it a little. Also put a similar question to the 4-player group.
Here is my move North 5-20. Hopefully no big mistakes this time.
Thanks for the offer for metal pieces - that will be great! I hope to find someone to play an actual face-to-face game someday.
Our address is:
George Coonley
PO Box 182
Rhinelander WI 54501-0182
Can you pls tell me what US size shirt would best fit?
I have started a part time job for the summer to help fill the time (and get a few extra Euro). It is at Camp Dearhorn, doing maintenance stuff. So far so good, they have a lot of things that need fixing and cleaning.
Thanks and trust all is going well,
George

Re: Klaus (South) vs. George (North)
Hi George,
I will send the metal pieces this week. They have to be tenderly painted.
I suppose it's the US size 40 or L. Thank you, George!
Kind regards
Klaus

Such a job could give variety to the daily routine...Actually I need someone who can fix my water well in the garden. The well run dry last year. I made some efforts and exchanged the pump. But I'm afraid that the ground water decreased due to the heat last year.George wrote:I have started a part time job for the summer to help fill the time (and get a few extra Euro). Re: Klaus (South) vs. George (North)
Hi Klaus,
Here is my turn, time to get serious
I think there may be some captures soon.
Good luck with your garden system - you may need to dig the hole deeper.
George - North 5-20
All the best,
George

Re: Klaus (South) vs. George (North)
Hi Klaus,
Thanks so much for the metal Conquest pieces, they are great. I am not sure to keep them as they are or to add a custom paint job.
Here is my move (finally) for our game.
George (N) turn 6 - 19 moves
Please let me know if you have any questions and please keep safe with the extreme hot weather. I know air-conditioning is not everywhere like in the US.
Thanks for your patience!

Hi George,
you are building consolidated formations of pieces. A good strategy in general!

Yes, in the past we didn't need air-conditioning in our climes. The weather was moderate in comparison with southern Europe. Only in cars air-conditioning is commonly built in. But the climate is changing obviously and everywhere.George wrote:I know air-conditioning is not everywhere like in the US.
